The news that our borders were opening came as good news but we are quickly learning it is terrible news for rhino. There have been at least 9 rhino poached around the country in the past week. The tragic thing is many of them were dehorned rhino. The poaching syndicates are making up for lost time and are desperate for horn, even if it is just the growth plate. We are on high alert and have doubled our patrols and doing everything possible to keep our rhino safe during this onslaught.
